Our Story
Renal Plate was born from a deeply personal experience. When my father was diagnosed with Stage 3 CKD, I watched him struggle to understand what he could and couldn't eat. The hospital handouts were confusing, the diet felt impossibly restrictive, and mealtimes became stressful rather than enjoyable.
He missed his favorite foods. He was overwhelmed by nutrition labels. The lists of "foods to avoid" seemed longer than what he could actually eat.
I knew there had to be a better way. As someone who has always loved cooking, I started learning about renal nutrition and experimenting in my kitchen. Could I make a flavorful meal with under 600mg of sodium? Could dinner be both low-potassium AND delicious?
The answer was a resounding yes โ and Renal Plate is the result of that journey. Every recipe here has been developed with kidney health in mind from the very first ingredient. These aren't regular recipes with "reduce the salt" added as an afterthought. They're thoughtfully crafted meals designed to be genuinely kidney-safe while remaining absolutely delicious.
